Madison Heights, MI – [November 13, 2025] – We’re proud to highlight Mopec Clinical Advisory Board member Eric Daley, whose career bridges the laboratory, healthcare policy, and the expanding frontier of pathology informatics and data-driven innovation.
Eric began his career in the laboratory as a Pathologists’ Assistant, where he was drawn to the vital role pathology plays in diagnosing disease, guiding treatment decisions, and advancing patient care. Over time, his passion for leveraging data and technology to strengthen those connections led him to focus on pathology informatics—a field where clinical practice, data standards, and digital innovation converge to shape the future of laboratory medicine.
Today, Eric is the Senior Clinical Product Manager at the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and serves as the Informatics and Technology Director for the AAPA Grossing Guidelines, where he helps ensure consistency, clarity, and interoperability across pathology workflows. He recently brought that mission to life as a featured speaker in the AAPA webinar “The Power of Structured Reporting for Macroscopic Examination,” alongside fellow experts Jon Wagner and Connie Thorpe, where he shared how standardized data can elevate accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration in the gross room.
He is also actively pursuing SNOMED CT certification, further deepening his expertise in standardized medical terminologies and data exchange.
the Future of Cancer Diagnostics,” driving conversations around data connectivity in cancer care.
Recognized on the Pathologist Power List in 2024, Eric continues to contribute to national efforts that align laboratory medicine with policy, innovation, and collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem. As a member of Mopec’s Clinical Advisory Board, he is energized by opportunities to collaborate with peers who share his commitment to advancing pathology through informatics, quality improvement, and digital transformation.
Looking to the future, Eric envisions a more connected and interoperable generative pathology ecosystem—one where standardized data empowers smarter, faster, and more informed decision-making. He believes these advancements will not only improve patient outcomes but also accelerate research, streamline workflows, and strengthen public health surveillance.
“The next decade holds enormous potential for pathology to become even more collaborative, data-driven, and impactful.”
