Mopec Coldplate

Description

The Mopec Cold Plate and Base is a simple, effective alternative to ice blocks or chiller sprays for cooling tissue blocks before sectioning. Its cooling gel helps maintain low temperatures for longer, providing consistent performance during use.

After being pre-cooled to -20°C for 3–5 hours, the cold plate can keep tissue blocks chilled for up to 4 hours at room temperature.
The unit features a durable aluminium cold plate and a moulded insulated base. When not in use, the metal cold plate can be stored in a cryostat or freezer. Once the plate in use warms up, it can be quickly replaced with a pre-cooled one to minimise disruption. Its large surface area allows up to 36 tissue blocks to be cooled at once, ideal for busy laboratory environments. The base also collects condensation, helping keep benches and floors dry.
